A leaking valve is one of the most common causes for a slow leak in any of our inflatables, but we frequently see it in REEF Mats! Luckily this is an easy problem to diagnose and fix and you can do it all yourself!
The first step is to identify is the Valve is open. If you fill your REEF Mat and air rushes out once you remove the hose then the valve is open. Or if you are experiencing a slow leak in your mat that brings the PSI down to about 1 the valve might be open!
Our Valves are all the same across our products, so this fix can work for any mat or ISUP. Simple look at the white stem in the center of the valve. If the White Stem is sticking up higher than the grey housing around it and the spring has no tension, then the valve is in the "Open" Position and is leaking air.
If the white stem is lowered and flush with the grey housing, and the spring it tight with tension, then the valve is closed and will not leak.
To open and close the valve simply press down on it until you hear a click. Each click alternates between the "Open" and "Closed" positions!
