A couple of things to keep in mind:

• Watch out for barnacles. Boats with barnacle buildup can cause damage, so give those a wide berth.
• Rinse the metal D-rings occasionally. They're stainless steel and highly corrosion-resistant, but a quick rinse after saltwater use never hurts. It’s worth noting that many users find they rarely need the D-rings at all.
